Violet Walnut Conserve



After making Violet Cardamom Syrup, I was left with more than a cup of marc, or solid bits of sugary flowers.  Knowing that a friend had worked very hard to pick those violets, I wasn't about to throw them into the compost.  Instead, I decided to upcycle them into a sort of jam by adding creamy toasted walnuts to the mix.

Violet Walnut Conserve


3 parts violet marc
1 part toasted walnuts, chopped
pinch of salt

1.  Mix all of the ingredients together and pack the resulting mixture into a jar.  Refrigerate.

Violet Walnut Conserve is especially nice served with cheese.
